About this publication
The South African International Maritime Institute (SAIMI) has a mandate to support and develop ground-breaking research that will facilitate knowledge transfer and the development of competitive maritime education and training in South Africa. Inspired by the various stakeholders who work with SAIMI to provide ideas and strategies to support the sector, the South African Journal for Maritime Education and Training (SAJMET) is a first of its kind, dedicated to publishing annually on themes and topics related to maritime research, innovation and development in South and Southern Africa.
